Welcome to the home page of Lochside Sailing Club. This RYA Affiliated Sailing Club based at Fannyside Loch has been established for several decades. Fannyside Loch lies just to the south of Cumbernauld new town in Central Scotland on the road from Cumbernauld to Slamannan and is surrounded by unspoilt beauty, the town is below the horizon and therefore out of sight.
The views of the campsie hills and the ochils lend a real quality to a day's sailing, the view adding to the atmosphere of relaxed enjoyment.
There is also a new Scottish directive on the muir creating an SSSI on Slamannan plateau as we have rare visitors each year in the form of Bean Geese.

The classes sailed by members

Training sessions this spring.
5 members were given a weekend running about in Power boats to merit the Level 2 powerboat RYA certificate. A good and educational time was had by all. This means you are likely to see the Club RIB much more often on the water.

March 30th the Club has an afternoon session on the racing rules of sailing presented by Ian Young, a race coach. All members are invited to attend whether a racer or not. This will be beneficial to all and a good turnout will make a great event. Please try to come along

Laser sailors, June 14th A day on the water with a Scottish Squad laser sailor/Coach takes place on June 14th. A notice will be up on the notice board with further detail nearer the time.
